Hi Abby, Finally getting caught up on my badly backed up e-mail and found your Tibbals message. Do you happen to know Sarah's maiden name? I descend from their son Josiah but do not have any siblings. When you have some spare time, perhaps we could compare Tibbals info. Hi Bill, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Unfortunately, I haven't run into any Tuttles that were related yet. I have run into a few that were living with different families of mine but, as far as I know, there is no connection. Sorry. Hi: I am new to the list. I am seeking a marriage between Willard JOSLYN b: abt 1810, NY and Mahala (Unknown) b: abt 1810 in Conn. They were likely married before 1833 when their son Charles was born in NY. Yes, they lived in NY State, Concord, Erie, NY; Warsaw, Wyoming, NY; Java, Wyoming, NY; and Arcade Village, Wyoming, NY, but I am speculating as to whether they were married in Conn. where Mahala was born. Hoping for any clue... Ellen

Hi June Thank you for getting back to me. As as the moment, my tree goes back to 1744 with a marriage. If they married at the minimum age of 21, well that take me to 1723, but it apparantly was known for children to marry as young as 14. A lady who is doing the one-name search for TIBBLES (with the variations of spellings on that name) gave me a lot of info for 1744-1813, and has more, but hasn't verified the finer details as yet. If I do find out something I'll let you know Simon ----- Original Message ----- From: "June" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, January 25, 2005 3:47 AM Subject: Re: [GenCT] TIBBALS 1800 to PRESENT > Hi Simon, > I am one of the descendants of the Milford, CT 'TIBBALS'. I was going through some old notes from my research on Frederick Peck, b. abt. 1754 in Ct., and I found the following note under Fredericks daughters name. The father mentioned would be Frederick. My question is about the "Grandfather at Quebec" Does anyone know what this means, other than the fact that he may have lived there? And where in Quebec would this have been maybe between 1730-1770? I haven't done any research outside the U.S. yet, so this part is new to me. NOTE: Peck is an old Ct. family. Father in Revolution at Ticonderaga, Grandfather at Quebec. Frederick Peck was born Abt. 1754 in Salisbury, Litchfield, Connecticut, and died March 1798 in Shelburne, Chittenden, Vt.. He married Sarah White Bef. 1780, daughter of Ruluoff White and Maritjen Morache Knickerbocker. Notes for Frederick Peck: I found the name "Frederick Peck Rec. Conn Men" listed under Salsibury, Ct. Rev. War soldiers. I found Frederick in the 1790 census in Litchfield, Litchfield, Ct. I found a Frederick in the 1800 census in Greenwich, Fairfield, Ct., not sure if this is him though. Children of Frederick Peck and Sarah White are: Benjamin F. Peck, b. 1780, Chittenden county, Vermont, d. July 30, 1847, Grafton, Lorain, Ohio. Sally Peck b. September 17, 1782, d. date unknown. Harriet Peck, b. October 01, 1784, d. June 29, 1832, Shelburne, Chittenden, Vermont. Julia Peck, b. October 24, 1786, d. October 1803, Shelburne, Chittenden, Vermont. Sidney Peck, b. December 24, 1788, Shelburne, Chittenden, Vermont, d. April 22, 1871, Shelburne, Chittenden, Vermont. Ralph Peck, b. February 13, 1791, d. date unknown. Carolina Peck, b. Abt. 1793, d. date unknown. Perlina Polly Peck, b. 1796, Vermont, d. 1856, Bombay, Franklin, New York.

I have Cynthia (Maiden name unknown) born in Virginia (according to the 1860 - 1870 - 1880 census) born on 28 March 1807. Where married is unknown, she lived in New York possibly but not sure if she was ever at Rye. Birth records listed on the 1860 and 1870 census show the Anna Maria and Cynthia Ann both daughters were born to John and Cynthia in Connecticut not sure where. In New York City one daughter Ella was born there about 1850. Later Cynthia is found in Mount Vernon postal district of East Chester Township, Westchester County. Her stone indicates that she died on 3 February 1889 at Mount Vernon while living with son in law and daughter James and Anna Maria "Nunie" (Lewis) Wood. She married John Lewis Jr. son of John Lewis Sr. and Sarah (maiden name unknown). I do not know any of the dates for her husband or how Cynthia made her way from Virginia to New York and Connecticut. I don't know how or when Cynthia's father in law John Lewis Sr. born to William Lewis on 13 February 1771 then baptized at the parish church of the Blessed St. Teilo in Llandeilo, Abbercywn, Carmarthenshire, South Wales on 15 February 1772 made his way to America and is then buried at Greenwood-Union Cemetery. His date of death is given on the stone there as 5 October 1846. He married Sarah all dates pertaining to her are unknown. In the same family plot seems to be a strange unidentified Lewis named James who is listed as having died 2 December 1899 at the age of 65 years. So far he does not fit into the family line up considering that I found the father of my John listed in the vital records of the National Library of Wales and was named William. Thank you in advance Daniel Lewis Frommherz
Hi Abby, Sounds good to me. The lady who sorted my tree out has more names, and will let me have them when she has found a contact with those in the tree. Hi everyone, I own a book titled "A Genealogical Register of the Inhabitants of the Town of Litchfield, Conn." by George C. Woodruff. 1845, and was later updated by George M. Woodruff. This book has birth and marriage records from about 1720 to about 1800, and is for the town of Litchfield in Litchfield County, Ct. Last year, I posted the names from the book to the Litchfield County list. If you go to the link below to search the Litchfield archives, just type in a surname to search in 2004 for any of the surnames you are researching. When you type in a surname, be sure to read all the messages that appear, since each one will have some mention of the name you typed in. If you find a family that only has a partial listing of the children that you knew they had, it could be that they moved out of the Town of Litchfield, but could have still been in Litchfield County. Like I mentioned, these records are only for the Town of Litchfield, in Litchfield County. Joyce http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/?list=CTLITCHF
Woweee. This is fantastic. I've got to go go through the tree I received yesterday. Once I've done that, I'll let you have some more info and we can go from there. I am tracing the TIBBALS family tree, and so far I'm back to a marriage in 1743/1744. Those in my tree, from c1811 have come from Bermondsey/Rotherith are of London, England. Prior to that, they came from an assortment of places in England. Has anyone else got a TIBBALS (or a variation of that name) in their tree as I'd like to hear from you to see if there's a connection? Hi everyone, Just wanted to let people know that I have a database online for the Fairfield County Jail in Connecticut. It contains an alphabetical listing of prisoners there for the year 1880. You can check it out at http://blacksheepancestors.com/usa/connecticut_fairfield.shtml Hopefully this will help somebody in the search for their blacksheep ancestor! Cheers. -- Tyler S. Mercy/Mary Tiffany born about 1786 in Connecticut married David Sinclair, he probably born Newmarket NH c1786. Mercy and David living Ausable, Clinton Co., New York in 1850 (census), later in 1860 living at Lowell Vermont. They had two children that I know of; Clarissa and Roswell. Mercy and David may have died at Lowell, or perhaps Essex, Chittenden Co., VT, most likely between 1860 and 1870. Hoping to find Mercy's parents and any other detailes regarding her and David Sinclair and their family. Thank you Janice
