Yes, Legacy presents names with quotes as NICKnames in a GEDCOM in addition to NAME. RM picks the name up as both a name and a nickname and lists both. Both programs operate as planned - I just should have use parens vice quotes for middle names 18 years ago. As others have said it's the difference in theories about how a program should work. I think all would agree that we look for different options. Hugh
