Not sure about film rolls, but I have places microfiche directly on the glass plate of my Canoscan and obtained quite good results with no Newtons Rings. My suggestion would be to just gently pull the film through, though you may have to scan just one frame at the time, as the film would have to go transversal in order to avoid the lid hinge. -- Med venlig hilsen Lars Erik Bryld
