What you created is an .rtf (rich text file) document which needs to be taken to a wordprocessor which can generate a table of contents or index. In the document is some embedded code which shows the indexer what to index. If you dont have a work processor you have a couple of options. I would be happy to do it for you or talk you thru doing it if you have a word processor or download Open Office from http://www.openoffice.org/ from Sun Microsystems - it is free and virtually can replace MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint. I just checked and it does index and table functions. I sometimes lose sight of the fact that there are still some people who are very willing to help others. I'm not sure I pass the test but you made me think, Helen. Hugh

I've just tried it with Open Office. One needs to call up the rft file Go to Instert, Index and Table of Contents. Choose Alphabetical Index Save the document in native word processor format. Call it up and print it. -- Steve Hayes from Tshwane, South Africa Web: http://hayesfam.bravehost.com/stevesig.htm Blog: http://methodius.blogspot.com E-mail - see web page, or parse: shayes at dunelm full stop org full stop uk
