I have used Legacy for about 10 years I suppose and have always been aware of Intellishare and thought I understood it - however I have a question. I have one version of my data on my laptop and one on my PC - the main file being my PC. How I understood Intellishare was that if I made a copy of my data and sent it elsewhere - generally another user who would make changes (my laptop) I could then rely on Intellishare to keep track of the duplicates when I re-imported the laptop file to my main machine the unchanged data would be merged using the Intellishare indicators and the changed data would not be. The reason I do this is I take a copy of my main file on my laptop and edit it "out in the field" then upload the changes to my PC. I know this was not the intention of Intellishare however I figured it should work - I gave another user my data and they changed it and I reimported it - it just so happens the other user is me but could have been hubby, son, sister etc. When I did this the main file of 30,000 ended up having 90,000 entries and did not auto merge the unchanged data. I started a manual merge which then kicked into an automerge It then happily automerged 30,000 entries and then asked me to manually merge the rest - I then selected and deselected the automerge function and it happily then merged all the unchanged data again. Has anyone else successfully used the Intellishare function in a similar manner? I would be grateful if you have used Intellishare and you have some feedback Helen Castle Narangba -- regards Helen Castle Narangba Qld 4504 Are you going to Vanuatu on holidays? http://au.geocities.com/donate_yci_vanuatu/index.htm Have a look at a project my sister and I are working on.
