Refer to the Gedcom standard naming for fitting a large file on floppies. 2) What evidence tells you the files are in binary? Does the evidence suggest a gedcom file or some other format? If you are willing to email me the .001 file, I could give an opinion. I have lots of experience of extracting data from miscellaneous files. Regards Peter
