Mine does the same thing and I have been chasing it for a year now. I have found several "solutions" but none have worked. Since, otherwise, Firefox is a superior browser, I just put up with it until a real solution is found. I just checked again and found that the "GOOGLE TOOLBAR" extension will cause this. I disable the extension seems to have gone away. Only time will tell if it will last.
