Most of "my" groups are pretty quiet at the moment, but I chalk that up to what I suggested previously. I suspect things will return to "normal" ere long, though. Still, it really is a shame that usenet seems to be dying a lingering death and most of what's replacing it isn't worth the powder it'd take to blow it to hell. Maybe it's just as well I'm now well into my dotage and will likely pass before it does, tho' not by much, in all likelihood. Sunburned Ol' Bob -- Robert G. The rest of us, who have more than one family line in more than one locale, are sticking around here. Meanwhile a few years back my ISP quit offering usenet; I haven't had the energy to dig up another source. About that time, Yahoogroups started up, and FamilySearch's family discussions got traction, and yes, mid-Jun to early September is historically slow on usenet as colleges empty, and other folks take vacations. Still, it'll never be what it was back in the day when there was ONE group (Roots-L) and ONE "echo" and each of them several hundred messages a day. Cheryl
