    1. Forte Free Agent - move Data store

    3. Is it possible to move the Data for Forte Free Agent version 1.21? Has anyone done it? It looks as though it could be as simple as copying the folder to a new location, and changing the Agent shortcut to indicate the new "Start In" folder.

You can expect explicit instructions if you post your query in alt.usenet.offline-reader.forte-agent. The details vary with the version of Agent, so if you can, provide at least: Your version of Agent Where you want to move the files from Where you want to move them to If to a different disc, from which to which Your file structure; i.e. the path(s) to your agent.exe, agent.data, and agent.ini files HTH -- Don [email protected]

I am not sure about what you want to do. In my old computer, FA was on a specific directory that can exist in Windows 98 but no in Windows 7 (perhaps since XP). All I did was to modify the folders for attached and temporary files. In the FA version I have (the commercial one, not the Free one), FA reads data files from the folder where it is located, and it did so probably in all previous versions. So, move all your files, including agent.exe, where you need them. You can even have 2 copies of FA if you use it for emails or subscribed to 2 newgroups providers. I searched the archives of alt.usenet.offline-reader.forte-agent (Thanks Don!) and immediately found confirmation in instructions to someone else with version 1.21: "Just copy your entire Agent folder to the new drive" - so I did. Seems to have worked a treat. Thanks, Denis!
