On reading this initially my first thought was that possibly 6. and 8. could be included in the one field (8.) leaving a spare, for use as; 6. Nature of event - Birth/baptism, Marriage, Death/burial or Other. This would facilitate an only B or M or D or O data input being allowed and allow a degree of sorting if needed. -- Robert G.
