[I know that in the very early days of cinematography the same instrument was often used as both camera and projector, but I don't think that would have been the case in 1914.]) Newsreel-type pictures were certainly taken, as we keep being shown them, and I would imagine they'd be mostly taken by military personnel rather than independents or newspaper (etc.) employees. -- J.
