A few years ago I wrote to the HR dept of Trinity Mirror asking if they still had a file on my grandfather who was a press photographer with the Daily Mirror in the first decade of the 20th century. The buggers didn't even bother to acknowledge my letter which was particularly annoying given that my father worked for them for 51 years. It contrasts with Cadburys who will (or did) supply a copy of the record card of workers from the 19th century.
