    3. The cutting can be found on the British Newspaper archive website. However, the report consists of just one paragraph of 20 words as follows..... "Yesterday died, suddenly, Mr Philip Wright, senior verger of this cathedral, having for many years filled that station with credit." The report, as Eve says, appeared in the Hampshire Chronicle of Monday 20 June 1808, under the heading "Chichester" and dated Saturday, 18 June. The mention of Philip Wright came at the end of two other news items.
