As with any genealogical record much depends on what the respondent said - filtered through what the clerk understood to have been said. A long time ago I found what appeared to be my ggfather's brother & his wife in Sydney in the Australian census but they recorded themselves as having been born there so I was inclined to dismiss it as coincidence.
