    3. Would there be anyone able to tell me what registers are available and where for Weare Giffard in Devon at all? I am only interested in pre-1700. There appear to be gaps and I am trying to ascertain what exists. Many thanks, Sharon Australia

And, thanks Lori, yes that film does have records that are not at the Devon Record Office, which is why I was asking for a lookup in the NIPR (anyone?), cheers, Sharon

    3. The NIPR says (edited to remove some 19th century info): OR: C 1583-1617, 1711-1959 M 1584-1587, 1616-67, 1711-1837 B 1583-1631, 1711-1933 at North Devon RO BT: CMB 1607-08, 1610-12, 1614, 1644, 1668, 1672, 1674, 1678-79, 1682-83, 1688-91, 1695-97, 1700, 1702, 1704, 1706-07, 1710-12, 1714-16 (1717-1812 ?) at Devon RO Copies: CMB 1583-1812 at Devon & Cornwall Record Society, West Country Studies Library M 1655-1837 Devon FHS M 1583-1812 in Boyd This is one of 128 Devon parishes where MIs were recorded in the late 18th century by Thomas Incledon and others - transcripts held in North Devon Athenaeum, and indexed in Transactions of the Devonshire Association 36/1904. The BT years 1717-1812 are in brackets with a query because they had not been listed at the time the volume was prepared and there will be gaps. Some parishes also have some undated BTs. The NIPR volume was published in 1999, and locations may have changed. I suspect these may be from Bishop's Transcripts but this is not clear. The familysearch wiki is sometimes helpful: https://familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/Weare_Giffard,_Devon_Genealogy Lori
