    3. Of course, how stupid of me not to have thought of that as I knew those rules very well. Obviously another 'senior moment'!! My apologies & thank you for your reply. I am rather nervous now about some of the replies I could get on the australia+nz site. 3. If you live near a state Library they have NZ BMDs up to 1990 on miro fiche, I use the ones at QLD state Library a lot, some genealogy groups also have them but maybe not as recent as 1990, you wont get exact date but will get the year and mothers maiden name Cheers Jenny a Kiwi in Aust "Noreen" <[email protected]> wrote in message news:N4AMq.1292$%[email protected] > Of course, how stupid of me not to have thought of that as I knew those > rules very well. 3. What you can see of New Zealand on Ancestry is very limited, no doubt because of the NZ privacy laws, which seem much stricter than ours. As an example, I am an Amateur Radio operator. The Australian Government says I am listed in the Call Book unless I opt out. The New Zealand rule is that nobody is listed unless he/she consents. Ancestry aren't Wikileaks; they publish only what they are allowed to. I think that it is with Scottish censuses they have been refused permission to publish images, as they explain with every census look-up. Regards, Doug.
