My GGG grandfather Richard Graham died at sea on board the "Shackamaxon" en route from Liverpool to Adelaide, circa 21st December 1852. Can anyone tell me if a death cert would have been issued, and where I may be able to order it? Cheers, John Maher. Hi John I put "Richard Graham" into SMH Trove Jan 1853 and it appears his Daughter Isabella also died on the voyage. http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/result?q=%22Richard+graham%22&sortby=dateAsc&s=60 There is also more relating to complaints about the capabilities of the Surgeon in the "South Australian Register" http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/result?q=shackamaxon Haven't been able to find a death certificate for either of them, perhaps somebody with the Sth Aust. Pioneer CD will be able to help. Regards, Kate (Sydney, Australia)

    3. Many thanks to all the kind folk who replied to my query. Richard actually had another son (older, on board) named Robert, who was my GG grandfather. The reason I was after the death cert was that as he was an Irish emigrant I have not been able to find out anything at all about his parents, and I was hoping (against hope) I may glean some further info. Oh well, I will need to turn to other sources. Cheers to all, John Maher.
