    3. Hi all, Sorry at it again. My King family in the electoral Rolls are at 14 George St Box Hill between 1919 & 1922. I have just had a look on Google earth and it appears that this is an industrial estate. Being the "electoral rolls" I am thinking they must have lived there BUT it could also have been a business address (well maybe) Does anyone know whether this area was housing back in that time frame or has it always been business?? Thank you Pat

    3. Hi Pat, Search the SLV catalogue ... www.slv.vic.gov.au Enter in the Search box ... mmbw box hill george street and you'll find No. 14 on Plan 3088 [first one? of the six found] As these sewerage plans are dated 1930 this is about as close as you get and as per my book on sewerage records, the BEST "view" you can get of the house at that time - perfect footprint of it. As you can see from the sewerage the streets and house numbers are nothing like today. http://zades.com.au/gandd/index.php/thisthat/anzsewers Regards ......... 3. Hi Pat, You will need to do some careful checking and comparisons of current day maps and the sewerage plans but I think 14 George St, Box Hill in 1930 is now 14 Glemore Street, Box Hill. No 18 Glenmore Street certainly looks like the same house in 1930 as in the aerial view today with the return verandah on the right hand side. Hard to tell for certain with No 14 but definitely appears to be right era for house style etc. - obviously extensions at the rear but also fits with the location of these houses on the block - larger front yard and smaller back yard as previously they went right through from street to street. Check the Rate Books and change of street name but I'm pretty sure you want 14 Glenmore Street. Would be worth checking with the Box Hill Historical Society. Regards ........
