>From The Preston Leader, 31 August 1895 -- Death has removed another of the old identities of Epping in the person of Mr. Jeremiah D. Hearn, who was born at Epping in 1842, a year after the arrival of his parents in the colony. His death took place on Friday 23rd August, somewhat unexpectedly. Mr. Hearn followed the occupation of a farmer and grazier, and his widow and family are left in comfortable circumstances. The large funeral to the Melbourne Cemetery on Sunday last testified to the respect in which the deceased gentleman was held. The service at the grave was conducted by the Rev.
