How many people physically go there? Would you agree to an increase in your taxes to put in your share of the "measly 2.1 million"? Or is that small change in your budget? We have just had the U.S. take our money and troops to fight their oil war (shades of Vietnam,) then out of gratitude, try to pull another Great Depression over us. Didn't you notice? Consumer confidence is returning, but according to the Reserve Bank and the Stock Exchange, Australia is not "out of the woods" yet. Mr Rudd is not your average Labor P.M. He doesn't necessarily believe in "jobs for the boys," as Paul Keating has observed. And he doesn't believe in spending money that isn't there, and leaving it to the next Liberal Government to find it. He balances his books. As a traditionally Liberal voter, I have a lot of time for him. BTW, did you read it? The article says that the 3 offices are Adelaide, DARWIN and Hobart. And your records will stay in Hobart. I quote from the article: "He [Director-General Gibbs] held meetings with the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, State Library of Tasmania and Tasmanian Archives and Heritage Office to see how they could help. "Every effort will be made to retain the Tasmanian heartland records in Tasmania," he said. " Doug.
