Whether the parents should be recorded on a marriage depends on when the marriage took place. Take a look at the "Data Collected" link at BDM Historical Records (http://bdmhistoricalrecords.identityservices.govt.nz/home/) to see what the law said should be recorded at the time. When you do place an order with BDM remember to ask for the printout, not the legal certificate, for family history purposes.
