    2. Dianne
    3. Hi to all, can you please help me find this family. Agnes CAIRNS was born circa 1818 at Kilmarnock Ayr in Scotland. Agnes arrived in Tasmania when she was about eleven years old with her mother who was a convict. Her parents were Michael and Elizabeth Cairns (nee Merry) Unfortunately this is all I have to go on so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Dianne

    3. Hi Dianne Have you looked at Agnes Cairns's mother's convict record on the Tas Archives site mentioned by another poster as it may give you more information. Was Agnes's mother's surname Merry or Cairns as I could only find a convict by the name of Elizabeth Merry who arrived on the Lady of the Lake on 1 November 1829. You may find mention of the family in newspapers of the day, Tasmanian papers are included - see http://newspapers.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/home You could also try the Times Digital Archives to see if there's any mention of the mother's crime or trial etc. cheers Jenny "Dianne" <di22@bigpond.com> wrote in message news:CMILm.54973$ze1.3882@news-server.bigpond.net.au... > Hi to all, can you please help me find this family. > > Agnes CAIRNS was born circa 1818 at Kilmarnock Ayr in Scotland. > > Agnes arrived in Tasmania when she was about eleven years old with her > mother who was a convict.
