Joanne is quite right, there are trees on Ancestry which include Alma ROSSAU, with a husband of Charles William SMITH. I looked at 2. I don't know if you are new to genealogy or just to the list. If you are new to genealogy be wary of accepting anything that appears on Ancestry as they are often wrong and could send you off in the wrong direction. If you're an old hand you'll probably know that anyway. For example, I decided to check some trees for a convict I have been researching and found lots of trees and in those trees I found lots of wrong information. The marriage year for the convict was wrong in at least 5 of the trees and gave no date but all had the same wrong year. One tree had the right year but the wrong date and month - this was the most accurate tree and the others were all wildly wrong but clearly it was the same convict. One of the trees for your people has some oddities. Prob 1) there is a female born before Charles William SMITH (the son born in 1890 according to that tree) who is listed as 'living'. It might be a clue that there was an earlier birth of a female than you know about for Charles and his first wife but clearly if this person was still alive they'd be about 120. Prob 2) all children who appear from the female born before Charles William (born 1890) and including John and Margaret are listed as being the children of Charles William SMITH and Alma ROSSAU. There is no mention on that tree of a first marriage. That tree also gives the name for John as being John Augustine (not August) but the birth year is the same as you gave. The other tree says that the mother of Charles William (B 1890) is Susan WALES born Victoria in 1870 and died in 1900 in Victoria. Susan SMITH is not a great help in the unique names when hunting for deaths but it's something I guess. Do you have the certs for the two children you mentioned? If you don't then I would recommend you try to get them to confirm the mother's name.
