    3. Hello Listers Isaac and Joseph Clements arrived on the General Stewart for the crime of highway robbery and had received a life sentence, having looked at their indents Isaac received his C/F in 1827 but Joseph Clements didn't receive his till 1834, seeing as they were both charges with the same crim I wonder why the difference. They were charges in the company of George Mason, George Braham, John Burton, Benjamin Lawrence, and Thomas Noyce; perhaps someone might recognise these other gentlemen and may be able to tell me more about the actual crime. I checked the 1822, 1823, 1824 musters, 1828 census. Neither was recorded on the 1837 muster, they both settled at Canowindra. They were Hampshire and later were joined by two siblings, their brother Benjamin Clements later settling at Bigga NSW. Having migrated aboard the "Isabella" on 18th October 1840. Any assistance would be appreciated. Cheers Rhonda

    3. Actually neither received a C/F (Certificate of Freedom) as they both received a Life sentence. They both, however, received a TOL, Isaac in 1827 and Joseph in 1834 and then both went on a received a Conditional Pardon - Isaac in 1834 and Joseph in 1842.
