My father commenced with the PMG dept as a telegram boy in 1919 aged 13 in Jerilderie NSW. He was too young for appointment and had to wait until he was 16 in 1922 for permanent employment. He remained all his life with the PMG retiring in 1971. Hope this helps Chris H.
