HI Posters Could convicts marry prior to obtaining a certificate of freedom? I have John WALSH marrying in 1840 but his certificate of freedom is dated 1845. Would this have been possible? If not then I have the wrong John WALSH! Would appreciate any input on this question. Many thanks Jan
