Looking for information on Edmund Veness who was born on 28/12/1828 at Dallington,East Sussex. He was the son of John Veness (b.abt.1790 at Dallington,East Sussex) and Sarah Noakes (b.1793 at Whatling,East Sussex) He married Elizabeth Godley (Reg.Mar 1863 Kensington,London) Some time between 1863 and 1866 Edmund went to Australia,where in 1866 he purchased 29 Acres of land from the Crown on the slopes of Mount Macedon where he built a single storey house and established a considerable orchard and a fruit factory. Edmund married Elizabeth Ann Johns (b.1850 Cornwall) on the 14/12/1876 at Melbourne and they had six children. Elizabeth Eleanor 1877 John Edmund 1879 – 1950 married Ann Flora Wallace 1887 - 1955 They had a daughter Mabel Grace Veness who married Jack Doyle and had a daughter Helen Doyle. Mabel later married George Thompson and had a daughter Lorraine Thompson Sarah Mary 1881 – Mary Hellam 1881 - Hilda 1887 - James Gage 1890 – 1937 married Mabel Jesse Ridge
