>From The Hobarton Mercury, 15 October 1856 - Emigrants escaping from the Colony. Andrew Aherne, Ellen Aherne, and a little boy, were brought before the Bench yesterday charged by the Emigration Officer (Mr. G. Smith) with attempting to leave the Colony in the brig Emma for Sydney without having paid the expences of their passage from home in terms of their agreement.
