Hi, My last query proved interesting - I found that the street numbers in Douglas Pde changed at least 3 times between 1870 and now. (pre 1905, post 1905 and now) Today #63 would be in the middle of the road cnr Douglas Pde and Stevedore St (well actually no #63) and in 1905 it would be 1/2 way between Stevedore St and John St and in 1870 it was on the corner of John St and Douglas Pde. The house I want is not there, of course, but in the throes of searching I did find a probable similar type.:-) My next query is the Williamstown Naval Dockyards. I have information that gives the address as opposite Nelson Place - Well this is quite a long area. I know the pier that the ferries dock at these days and am wondering if it is, as you face this pier, to the left or to the right. I have tried googling - no actual address I have tried going through all the MMBW 1905 maps but I seem to be going round in circles (maybe not using the right search terms) On the Google maps there is a Transfield Shipbuilding - would this be it?????
