    3. Hi Dorothy, I found some information on the Bedall family on: http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?forum=bedell&url=%2Fbedell%2F&path=%2Fbedell%2F&terms=Australia&boolean=AND might be worth having a look at the 4 posts to see if you can make contact. Also, have a look here so see if someone can help you: http://genforum.genealogy.com/bedell/ Good luck, Di "The Warwicks" <[email protected]> wrote in message news:[email protected] Hi Listers, Am hoping someone may be able to help with a brick wall I have come across. An elderly aunt has asked for information on her family and I am finding it quite difficult to find information on the paternal side. Her father was Frederick John Hillock who died in 1960 aged 65yrs. The only birth I could find on the BDM's was for John Hillock b. 1895 to Elizabeth (no father mentioned). BDM's show the parents of Frederick John Hillock as being Robert & Elizaabeth. (My aunt recalls her father only ever being called Freddie). I then found the marriage of Robert Hillock to Elizabeth Badell in 1901. (Her maiden name appears spelt as Badell or Bedall in the records). My aunt knows that her father was born illegitimate, but knows nothing else - the family was never talked about. I can track Robert Hillock through the Sands Directory but am having difficulty in finding him before his marriage. There is a death registration in 1927 (parents shown as Robert & Elizabeth) with Robert aged 63yrs and this would put his birth year as circa. 1864. The only birth I could find was for a Robert Hillock b. 1867 with mother's name as Dorinda and father's name shown as "(Hillock)". And there lies my brick wall - different mother's names (if it's the same person) and I can't find any information on any Hillocks prior to this. The name seems to have just 'appeared'. Would anyone have any ideas as to how and where I can go from here? I would appreciate ANY suggestions. Thank you, Dorothy
