I earlier posted about a Divorce Record in W.A for a marriage 1898- not needed now as "the party of the first part" i.e. the first wife of our ancestor Smith, was married in Perth 1935 under Licence and under the 'provisions of the marriage Act 1894' -she was in her 50s, condition being "presumed widow". So, no divorce had been applied for. Our ancestor - still alive - did marry again too, the details as to his age, parents' names, father's occupation matching with his NSW certificate, but to be absolutely certain they were one and the same person,we'd like to match signatures. This NSW 2nd marriage cert, 1909 - was a handwritten copy, likely by the (Congregational) Minister. Would anyone know how one gets a copy showing the original signatures of the parties? PS Wife of this marriage died, and 3rd marriage occurred, in Regional NSW 1930s. Maybe original signatures could be found in this period? I looked at Joy Murrin (transcriber's site) but did not see any information about this. Many thanks.

Hi folks, I am helping a friend whose mother graduated as a Nurse in Melbourne around 1963. After viewing the PRO website I found there are items which may cover this period but I am presently unable to research there myself. Is there SKS who may be able to help me with this query? She trained/graduated under the name of either Elizabeth “Betty” Beverly BROWN or Joy Lavinia MAYNARD. She was a Nurses Aid in Launceston before arriving in Melbourne. Her age was around 29 – 32. The Items I am interested in are: Nurses Register #11, 27428 – 38671 Nurses Registration Board of Victoria 1958 – 1963 and General Nurses Register #12, 38672 – 45996 Victorian Nursing Council 1963 – 1966 If the person would like to contact me for more information I would be very grateful. Many thanks for your assistance. Michele in Sydney

Will get all info together and ask Supreme Ct., W.A to check beyond what has been done as one would think Annie would have applied for divorce by then.. Smith's 2nd wife died young, and he married a 3rd time 1935. The only solution to the puzzle is unlikely event of 'stolen identity' on the first marriage..i.e details such parents names and occ. of father - there was a signature on that marriage cert. though! Cheers :-)

I have had a quick look and jotted down some info for you and in the case of a couple of births and deaths have looked up registration numbers for you. Just to confirm some info. Here is what I found :- They have William George Searby being born in Lincolnshire, England either circa 1841 or circa1833 with his parents listed as William Searby and Mary Maria Bruchmann b 1870. This was Mary Maria Bruchmann's second marriage and William George seems to be the only child from this marriage. She had quite a few earlier to her 1st husband. William George Searby married a Maria Manning or Manion in New York USA either 1868 or 1870 on these trees. They list their children as follows :- William George Searby b 1870 South America d 21/7/1956 Epping, Vic, Australia.
