Dear Marg, The Claim-a-Convict site has completely disappeared from the web. Just checked again and Bigpond had a message to say it's not there. Has someone hijacked it or simply not paid the bill? Bigpond says: If you are viewing this page it is possible the domain name your are viewing is resolving to an incorrect address. In a copy of a book issued by Vauxhall in 1946 there is a picture of him (undated, but around 1912) at the wheel of his 16/20 hp Vauxhall in which he broke the Melbourne-Sydney record by 2 hr 7 min, completing the 570 miles at an average speed of 34 mph. Hi all, really need some help with this one. As far as I can tell Susan Simpson arrived alone on the ship Kate, 27 dec 1856, from Omagh in Ireland, and sponsored by a sister Margaret Knight and brother John Simpson in Sydney. Susan married James Gilmore PATON in 1859 in Sydney. It is the brother and sister, Margaret and John, I am interested in but cant find anything of them, possibly because I cant get into NSW BMD, is it just me? Braidwood is one place where Susan lived at one time. I would be pleased if anyone is able to do some look ups, particularly on Margaret Knight nee Simpson. regards Marg OLeary Port Stephens NSW
