    3. I emailed Rookwood using the registration email I received to let them know that the login link was not showing up on my screen. I received a reply today with a request to send a screen dump so it could be forwarded to their IT people. That's when I worked out that my screen resolution was the culprit - I use 800x600 so I can actually see the screen - it just means that I have to scroll across the page. So I thought I would change the screen resolution to 1024x768 so that I could capture the whole screen in one screen dump and that's when I noticed that the login and search fields appeared in the top right hand corner. So for me the problem is solved. I've emailed Rookwood my screen dumps at both resolutions for their IT people to have a look at. 3. Hi Jenny, When I replied earlier, I had also found out that a minimum of 1024x 768 was needed for full webpage (without any scroll bars appearance), BUT they still have the problem re maximising that I stated below. No answer from their Web design mob yet. ****NOTE**** Anyone contemplating changing from 800 x 600 needs to be sure their perhaps older CRT monitor will actually display 1024 x 768, lots of them only went as high as 800 x600, so if changing from 800 x 600, to 1024 x 768 if the screen resolution makes the horizontal sync go crazy, just let it revert in 15 secs and stick with 800 x 600 or buy a newer screen that will handle 1024 x 768 or higher. regards John H "Jenny Chester" <jennychester@bordernet.com.au> wrote in message news:4ac03fcb$0$5420$afc38c87@news.optusnet.com.au... >I emailed Rookwood using the registration email I received to let them know >that the login link was not showing up on my screen. My personal site, which is interactive & so requires a login, had a bot attempt to enrol 20 times, but never took the next step, of course. It is my gut feeling that the database won't work for the browsers not supported yet, but the login bar is plain HTML. The size "buttons" are images, although they don't look any different. That would be normal. Not a good advertisement for the Web designer. They say that the site is still under development. IMO it isn't ready yet. I thought the whole of my family was in the UK but have just found my ggg-grandfather John Dorset/Dorsett(Dossett) b c1805 Middlesex (marr Jemima Peplow 1831) who was sentenced to transportation at the Old Bailey on 11 April 1840 and sent to Van Diemans Land on the Susan on 21 April 1842 which arrived 21 July 1842. According to Ancestry there is a record for him in New South Wales and Tasmania, Australia, Convict Pardons and Tickets of Leave, 1834-1859 but I cannot see it as I don't have a Worldwide subscription so don't know whether it would add any useful information. thank you for any assistance John

    3. Hi Doug I have the 3 buttons marked A to increase the font size but the blue bar ends after the first A and there's no more writing visible, just 2 blank spaces separated by a vertical line - however, when I put my mouse over the blank spaces the log in information and the search function appear at the bottom of my screen (thanks to Lesley Uebel for that tip). 3. HI Natalie Each state and territory has a different marriage register. Which state did you think these people may now reside or been married in? Did the father die in Victoria or elsewhere?? NSW marriage index is searchable till 1958, the other states are less generous in this detail. The State Records Acts limit what is available perhaps a search of the online Victorian Records which are searchable online may hold some further information when you do a search there. http://www.prov.vic.gov.au/ Each state has a similar body and often Wills and other paraphanalia may be searchable online. cheers Jewelly Shift your problems to challenges.  When you have problems, you worry about them.  When you have challenges - you are working, applying, and attacking your plan to get results. This shift in thinking from problems to challenges is important in making tension an asset. --- On Mon, 28/9/09, Natalie Drest <mccoey84HATANDCOAT@tpg.com.au> wrote: From: Natalie Drest <mccoey84HATANDCOAT@tpg.com.au> Subject: Alfred William HUNT marriage search please To: genanz@rootsweb.com Received: Monday, 28 September, 2009, 8:44 PM Hi there all, Alfred William HUNT, born VIC 1906 to parents Albert James HUNT and Catherine Maria, neé SCOTT. 2. John H
    3. Mary, Changing the font size may fix problem and it may not , depending upon whether after font size change you have all the website display on the screen, then Yes solved. But if website still not all dispayed on screen then I suggest a problem may still exist. I did some playing around and tried various dispay settings etc and found that a maximised screen before website fully opens/displays gives no problem! Did you or do you have the screen "maximised" when you look at Rookwood, as I found that if the website did not display fully on the screen, either due to either low video resolution setting or NON maximised screen, then upon either scrolling right to see the rest of the right hand side of the screen OR THEN Maximising the screen, the blue banner right hand section did not display. BUT if Rookwood screen was initially opened maximised AND assuming when maximised, the full screen was displayed, THEN the full blue banner would be displayed. I have sent an email to the Rookwood websites design company and will post their reply (if I get one). If I get a reply I will also ask them why a Surname ONLY search isnt possible, as we genealogists look for surnames without any knowledge of any given names. regards John H "Mary Dean" <Deans@bigpond.com> wrote in message news:mailman.599.1254084090.19407.genanz@rootsweb.com...
