The above three RAAF crew were attached to 98 Squadron during the Second World War and died during the Battle of Arnhem on 25 Sept 1944. The Dutch residents of Arnhem are seeking to contact descendants of these three men, as a number of Dutchmen witnessed the dogifights that saw their aircraft being destroyed and would like to recognize their contribution in the liberation of Holland. If you are descendants please contact me and I will put you in touch with those in Holland. -- Andrew G Peake
Dear Angelica, I'm sending you off list all the GRASKE, BARTEL and STASINOWSKY births(to 1906) deaths (to 1915) & marriages (to 1937) that are on the CD's. Hi all, My uncle Edward Raymond (Ray) DEACON was the pilot of a Hudson bomber that went missing over Bass Strait on a training flight from Bairnsdale on 11 Oct 1942. The other crew, all sergeants, were Albert Fletcher MANNING born 8 Nov 1918 at Cottesloe WA, William ANDERSON born 4 Oct 1912 at Galashiels Scotland but from Boggabri NSW, and Cecil Humphrey ANDREWS born 4 Jan 1913 at Gatton QLD. I have their basic file details from the NAA and the WW2 Nominal Roll, and have found births and parents details for ANDREWS and MANNING in Australia and ANDERSON in Scotland. I would like to make contact with any family members of the three crew. Thanks Ray
Dear All, Given the combined knowledge of this group, can anyone help me with this, please? I am trying to trace my gt-gt grandfather's embarkation from Liverpool as a steerage passenger in 1832. Is there a register that someone can access which gives the manifest or list of passengers embarking in Liverpool? I've found the arrival here in Sydney, but he's just included in the group of 34 steerage passengers. Details are: Brig "Sarah" departed Liverpool 18.6.1832 bound for Port Jackson via Hobart. She arrived in October 1832. I am looking for details on the date of birth/ age of one of the steerage passengers and his place of birth. Hoping that one of you wise people can help. Cheers, Jeny

Dear Sharon, Using ... four mile creek cadia ...... in google, the best answer is this: This page and map refers to the village of "Four Mile Creek", near Cadia near Orange NSW http://www.oktravel.com.au/au/nsw/cabonne/four-mile-creek/ The town of Four Mile Creek is home to around 235 people, with the major industry being agriculture, forestry & fishing, and a majority of workers being managers Trivia on the same page: In the 2006 Australian Census, 235 people considered Four Mile Creek the place they most likely call home. The average person is a comfortable 45 years of age, and they have a very average weekly gross income of around $521 per week. Four Mile Creek folk that are (un)lucky enough to be on their way to owning their own home, found they had an affordable weekly mortgage of around $325. For those too poor, smart, and/or young to buy into the great Australian dream of spiraling debt, the average rent in Four Mile Creek was around $165 a week. In terms of employment, 63.40% of people in Four Mile Creek were considered employable. Mary Ann is the sister of my Great Great Grandfather Patrick Kinna. Thomas and Mary Ann were married in Kyneton, Victoria and had all their children at Kyneton. They must have moved away as only one daughter can be found in Victoria. The one source I found on the Web stated they had moved to NSW. Children found so far were: Clara Mary b 1858; Esther Edith b 1860; Thomas b 1864; Austin Joseph b 1866 and Alfred Ernest b 1869 died 1870. Wellington NZ
Can someone tell me if there are any benefits to subscribing through the .au site as opposed to the US site? The subscription packages have different names and I am wondering if they are exactly the same or are there subtle differences which I cannot see? Aussie site has World Heritage and the US site has the World Deluxe package. Liz Dolan Qld Aus

If you want to phone me my contact details are 03 5482 1139. If my husband answer's the phone his name is Colin. Looking forward to your response. Freemantle is a small place, not even a village now outside Bathurst. Four Mile Creek is outside Orange and has the same Post Code. It is one of many little places surrounding Orange in Central Western NSW. Cadia had mines and they still mine for gold there. I think Four Mile Creek was mainly properties for sheep etc. ----- Original Message ----- From: "sharon" <sharlow@adam.com.au> Newsgroups: soc.genealogy.australia+nz To: <genanz@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, October 09, 2009 1:59 PM Subject: Four Mile Creek > Can anyone tell me please where Four Mile Creek, via Cadia NSW is or was. > > Please reply as a new post, thank you. > > Sharon > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > GENANZ-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes > in the subject and the body of the message >
