Hi all, Ann Elizabeth TURNER married William John AITCHISON in Victoria in 1920. In 1924 the family were living in Benalla, Victoria. William was a police constable and may have resigned in 1924. I suspect the family stayed in Benalla for a short while after 1924 but by the 1940s were living in melbourne - quite possibly one of the northern suburbs? I was rather hoping SKS would find the couple's address in Benalla and the nothern suburbs from the electoral rolls. I believe the couple were registered to vote. Thanking you Robert still in the Dandenongs
Just checked tribal pages website & my family tree website & both loaded immediately. I guess "living with "family" *might* imply his parents or siblings rather than a wife and children. Kerry
They were in Benalla until the 1936 Electoral Rolls when they were at 520 Gilbert Road, Preston. Occupation Constable. In 1949 and 1954 they were at 3 Grand View Road, Preston and he was still a constable. There appears to be a daughter Joyce living with them. She was a teacher. Hope this helps Julie Melbourne robert.j wrote: > Hi all, > > Ann Elizabeth TURNER married William John AITCHISON in Victoria in 1920. > > In 1924 the family were living in Benalla, Victoria. Hi Listers I wasn't sure what subject heading to put for this query, but I hope someone with some legal knowledge may be able to help. One of the people I am researching is listed under the following quotation from the Vic Government Gazette. Why would this have happened does anyone know? Had they done something wicked? Thanks Marcia Penny -May 2, 1956 Victoria Gazette APPOINTMENTS REVOKED.His Excellency the Governor of the State of Victoria,?LJ- by and with the advice of the Executive Council thereof, doth by Orders made on the 24th day of April,1956, revoke the appointments of the under-mentioned persons as Commissioners for taking Declarations and Affidavits, pursuant to the provisions of the Evidence Act 1928:
Hi list, I am looking for a male called PRUZER but NSW, VICTORIA and Q'LD BDM's do not show the surname. Henry PRUSER who d: 27/3/1893 of Yarraville Victoria is the closest spelling. Mr. PRUZER was suppose to have lived/married Charlotte HENSON b: 1867 Timor West Victoria. Annie Evelyn (Eva) was their daughter but no birth record found in all states.... she died as a JENKINS on 14/4/1946 in NSW with the father of Charles who was Charlotte's 'legal' husband. Any suggestions where to look would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Michele in Sydney

Hi Karen, I don't know which Index you got the year of the marriage and Index number from but this is what they have online at http://bdmhistoricalrecords.identityservices.govt.nz/Search/Search.aspx?Path=%2fqueryEntry.m%3ftype%3dmarriages#SearchResults 1851/836 Mary Walker, but you are correct in that there are no parents names given. As Wendy said, that does not mean the information will not be on the certificate when you purchase it, but then again, Murphy is alive and well.........{;-) Good luck, Colin. ----- Original Message ----- From: Wendy Howard To: genanz@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, October 29, 2009 2:13 PM Subject: Re: New Zealand birth certificates Hi Karen, "I am looking to purchase a birth printout for a Mary Walker. On the index 1850/826 Walker - Mary - Auckland. There does not appear to be any parents details. Can anyone advise why." I can't find it on the web site right at this moment, but simply the parents information was not transcribed for the index for the earlier years. That does not mean that the information won't be on the printout, it only affects the online index. Hi Judith Information about divorce files over the years is located on the State Records NSW site in Archives in Brief 77 http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/state-archives/guides-and-finding-aids/archives-in-brief/archives-in-brief-77 but briefly I can tell you that divorce files for the 1950s are held by the Supreme Court of NSW. I asked them about access last year and was emailed the application forms - the cost was $71. cheers Jenny "artann2" <artann2@bigpond.com> wrote in message news:mailman.67.1256787832.13161.genanz@rootsweb.com... In the Victoria 1899 Referendum Index, it had him indexed as John Reardon Senior, sterotyper, then living in Stewart Street, Richmond. That is as far as I can go, there were a lot of John Reardon's in the Melbourne at the time and most of them had sons named John. Shirlee Wellington NZ
