Noelle, NSW State Library in Macquarie Street Sydney has electoral rolls from early times (not sure how far back they go - certainly I've looked at 1870s). I think they are only on film for the 1890s (rather than on fiche) and are organised by electorate. There's a card index to help find which electorates various places were in at different times. Men only until about 1903 when women got the vote. I have some entries from various lists from the 1870s to the 1890s. Keep in mind that these old voter listings will only have males - the females didn't get the vote until early in the 1900's :-) Cheers Angie Some family trees have beautiful leaves, and some have just a bunch of nuts. The early ones are in the NSW Archives Research Kit which is available in many libraries. An explanation is in NSW State Records Archives in Brief No 5 http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/state-archives/guides-and-finding-aids/archives-in-brief/archives-in-brief-5 and a complete list of holdings is in Short Guide No 1 http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/state-archives/guides-and-finding-aids/short-guide-1/short-guide-1 Trish Downes

Hi all, need some help please. Trying to find children born in Victoria for the following - FATHER: Victor MATHER/MATHERS. Victor was born about 1902 in Victoria. Victor died in 1971 and is buried at the Springvale Cemetery. Victor was married twice. Unsure of his first wife's name but married a Florence DUKE after 1972. There were no children to the second marriage only the first marriage. I did find a marriage of a Victor Mather to a Muriel Marshall in 1922 but not sure about this. Your help would be most appreciated. Regards and thanks, Dianne

Hi, Can SKS help me? John Casey was born in New Zealand in 1869 and died there in 1871. He may have been a twin to Catherine Sarah Casey also born in NZ in 1869. Is there any way of determining at least one of his parents' names without buying a birth certificate? Thanks, Russell.
