    3. I am currently using the old Family Tree Maker Version 11. Almost two years ago I purchased and installed Family Tree Maker 2008, but it performance was so inadequate that I reverted back to using Version 11 and am still using it. Family Tree Maker 2010 is now on the market and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with it and would care to comment on it compared with the old Version 11. Thanks Bob

I upgraded from the dismal 2008 to 2009 last year and have now upgraded to 2010. I don't print many reports and I wonder why the printing of reports is so important. Who do you give all these reports to? I like FTM 2010 because of all the information that I can store and have easy access to. I probably could have done the same on 2009 but my other half is a computer nerd so we usually get most updates when they become available. Julie

    3. version 11 for me. much prefered over the newer ones. I have tried upgrades but have always gone back to 11. Whilst there are more bells and whistles on the later ones the ease of use for 11 and the familiarity has always drawn me back. On the rare occasion that I want a variation of a report thet FTM doesnt do I export to Brothers Keeper version 5.2G (also an oldie but a goodie). 3. Many thanks to Jacqui, Marilyn & Julie for your help. I have looked at the photo I took and apart from the last line have been able to work out all the words. The only word visible on the last line is the last word "before" as the sandstone was very old and crumbly. So the last line is either: I am not lost but gone before or I am not dead but gone before The very faint writing probably looks more like "lost" than "death" Thank you all for your suggestions. 3. loking for more information on PARK Jennet C born 1914 father William J mother Margaret birth registered at West Wallsend in 1914, reg number 30776. Information from a living desendant is that Jennet(t) Collier PARK married unknown HUDSON (see below) then later married unknown BATES. Places, dates of marriages also unknown, end date/death of spouses unknown Then from the NAA site on her enlistment record we have her date of birth as 01 Jul 1914 in Newcastle NSW., next of kin as HUDSON James (meaning that sometime before 1947 Jennett married James HUDSON) And from the Advocate she died as Jennett Collier BATES at North West General Hospital Burnie on 6th November 1981. According to the death notice from the Advocate (which I have a copy of) she had/has a brother John, a sister Marie ( both in Queensland when she died) and another brother Bill (in the US when she died). Headstone gives no new details either. If anyone out there can help with any more information I would appreciate it.

John Newnham was convicted in England and sent to Tasmania 1843, ticket of leave 1847 but was still in Tasmania in 1848, believed to have married and had children. But where ? Joseph Henry Newnham, pardoned in 1849 and left Hobart in 1852 for Castlemaine, Victoria where he died in 1883. Any information at all would be welcomed, so near and yet so far; I have never had occasion to delve into Australian history before so am at a bit of a loss where to start.
