    3. Many thanks to Ruth & Lyn for your replies. It is still a mystery as she is listed at Bellette, Ann Harrison at Sorrel Cemetery and Harrison, Ann on the Tasmanian Pioneer Records. The search continues. I need to find a marriage after the death of her husband Jacob Bellette in 1815 and her death in 1842. Regards, Mags. Townsville.

    3. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction to find a complete list of "black books" by Smee. Titles include Pioneer Register (at least 5 volumes) and books about first, second and third fleet. I have searched the web for a full list but the best I can do re the listeings that Lilrarys have of their items. I have found information in the books by Smee that have enabled me to continue my research when other sources have run dry. By using his family groups as a start point to aim my research I have been able to verify people in family groups that I had previously not known about. Hoping someone can help me with the list.

    3. Hi, Would anyone on the list live at Sorrel Tasmania please? I have been told that there is a headstone at Sorrel Cemetery by the water of ANN HARRISON - Relict of Jacob Bellette 10/9/1842. Jacob Bellette was a First Fleeter and his wife was Ann Harpour, also a convict. They were sent to Norfolk Island then to Tasmania. Jacob died 2/12/1813 and his headstone is at St. David's Park, Hobart. I was not aware that Ann had remarried. Did she marry a Mr. Harrison or was the headstone incorrect as it clearly states relict of Jacob Bellette. I would love a digital photo of the headstone or if anyone on the list has any further information on Ann's death I would be most grateful. Regards, Mags. Townsville, Qld.

    3. At the FHS in GOulburn I found a list of burials at the Goulburn cemetery. One was of a member of my MOHR family (who apparently lived at Towrang for a while since at least one of the children was born there) but that might have been because apparently the child was buried in the Jewish section. Possibly there was a cemetery at Towrang itself that didn't have a Jewiash section, but it would be worth enquiring - I found them very helpful - located in the public library I seem to remember. good luck, Trisha __________________________________________________________________________________ See what's on at the movies in your area. 3. Hi Susie, Denise, Stuart and Julie, Many thanks to you all for your answers ... and 1868 would be correct, it is a photo of Maria THOMAS, who was *born* in 1853. In the pic, she is a young woman in a long dress - but she has a round, babyish face, and after checking Lenore Frost's _Dating Family Photos 1850-1920) for hair and dress style, I guessed 1869/70. (So, 1868 is just fine) :-) > J Harvey, photographer, Gipps St, Belfast (Port Fairy) - 1868 > Cheers, Lesley (In sunny Melbourne)

There are many photos available for around the dates of your photos, but 1853 is quite early in the development of photographic plates and papers and the availability of such items. But then again, I can understand that a photographer of around that time may have taken a photo of himself.
