Yes these date from 1862 . State Records have filmed them to 1900. I think these films form part of the ARK kite ? At Kingswood paper copies are available to a bit later than 1930 . There is a 70 yr embargo on them Archives CDBooks published many years to 1900 on CDs. And a lot are now available on line in the World Vital Records web site > > I am looking for a William Frederick Payne who was a policeman at > Condobolin it seems. > His police record is a little hard to find. He doesnt come up on State Records Police register index?? Unless he is one of the 2 William PAYNES ? http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/state-archives/indexes-online/indexes-online#court-police-prison Bye -- MargM Beautiful Wyong Shire NSW

Thanks very much, MargM. I've now been able to match the Harold Victor about whom I asked with his parents, whom I already had in my files (although with no known connection to me). I didn't know about the other Harold Victor. I wonder whether they were cousins. I didn't know about the SAGEN list. I'll check it out. "Perce"
Hi All, Do the police gazettes go back as far as 1870's -1880's. I am looking for a William Frederick Payne who was a policeman at Condobolin it seems. His police record is a little hard to find. Kaye Payne
Hi Listers, I wonder, could SKS with access to the NSW Police Gazette CD please check the 1906 edition, p317, for Ernest ALBERTSON? He was a tram-conductor, aged 32, drowned in the waters off Bondi, 6 September 1906. According to family tradition, it was a suicide, after a failed love affair. (The Inquest, more prosaic, returned an Open verdict). Three (brief) reports of the event have now appeared in the Beta newspapers, two saying he was picked up by the steamer Narooma, the other saying it was the steamer Narodin. I already have the Inquest, but would like to know exactly what is in the Police Gazette. Many thanks, Lesley (In Melbourne ... after listening to the Australian Open)
It appears that my father was a member of this as I have found references in reprints from the Argus. Members included at various stages: Elsie Ritter - piano May (Y)ost - violin Mabel Jones - violin Roy Ramage - 'cello (Allan) Kent - solo violin Miss (L) Madden- solo piano Jerrold Fleming - banjo Roy Ramage married Elsie Ritter in 1926 They made at least three broadcasts on the ABC Nov 1924 - Jan 1925. My father also played in a Saturday Night Dance Band, which may have been Eric McConchie's Melodians - they played at his wedding in 1930. All information gratefully received Brian Fleming Melbourne
If you are looking at the Standard Pedigree View set the number of generations to 16, it won't go any higher. In my Pedigree View it shows 11,276 pages. Your best bet would be to use Descendants Tree (Standard), select 99 generations and everyone will show up in their boxes, it only has about 94 pages for my Tree in this view in landscape. Hope this helps, if not email me direct. I have the following information for Harold Victor BEAGLEY: born 15 October 1888, place unknown died 11 December 1970 in Hindmarsh, South Australia I would like information about his parents, and as many generations back as may be available. It is possible that we are related. Very little South Australian information seems to be available on line. Please reply to the newsgroup; the email address is bogus. "Perce"
Hi Sally, I use FTM 2006. I checked mine and it showed three generations in the boxes on the right. Maybe it's something that's not ticked somewhere. I will keep checking for you. Hi Kathryn According to YOUR family tree submission on Ancestry she married Ambrose Tilden in 1918 (NSW BDM) under Conroy and according to another family tree with same birth and marriage details she died in 1972 in NSW. They married in 1875 in Parramatta and he was the caretaker and undertaker of Rookwood cemetery for many years. They had 5 sons of their own (one died in infancy) and reared Margaret Conroy, known as Maggie Keating. Maggie was the daughter of Ethel Conroy who was unmarried and she gave the child to her maternal aunt, Jane Keating to rear. I can find no death or marriage for Maggie. I would like to know what happened to her. Good morning everyone, I have been running this program since it came out and it is just fine. One thing though, when I click on "Pedigree View" am I supposed to "not" be able to see all the names? God this is a dumb question isn't it? I can see all the boxes, I can get all the names to come up on the left hand side on "pedigree view side panel" but I can't "see" the names in the boxes. If anyone understands this question and knows the answer I would love to hear from you please. Cheers Sally
Hello Listers, Is anyone aware of an online source to view old maps of the Emerald Hill area of Melbourne from the 1860's?
The entry for Audrey is: LANGE ,Audrey ,72 (age) ,5-Apr-1991 (date of death),9-Apr-1991 (date of burial) ,B (for burial) Since you have the dates of death, why not use the Qld State Library's "Ask the Librarian" service to do the lookup of the death/funeral notices for you? http://wrms.slq.qld.gov.au/callsubmit/TPWebCallEntry.asp Kerry
