We have an unsolved mystery in our family. My grandfather, James Wallace Horan Sr. who was born either 1906 or 1909 married my grandmother in 1936 in Chicago IL. He then had a child with her, Patricia born in 1937. He left soon after she was born with no word to my grandmother. He came back later in the year, got her pregnant with my dad who was born in 1938 and then left soon after he was born. He again sent no word as to where he was. He came back in 1940 and got my grandmother pregnant with Richard who was born in 1941 and then left again with no word. He never returned or sent word after this. My grandmother had to divorce him in absentia in 1945. He was never found and never again contacted his family. We would love to know what happened to him. Did he have another family? Did he die?
