    3. Good morning Lady Patricia, I went to the on-line site of the NARA (National Archives) and ordered a pension form. Uncle Roger had fought in the Spanish-American War and I had some scant information about his service. In fact, just enough to fill out all of the required blocks on the form. That was about a month or so ago. The other day I received a letter from the NARA, stating that there was a pension application on file, but that it was in the possession of the Veterans Administration in Boston. They listed the pension number (along with an alias Roger used) and advised me to contact the VA in Boston, Massachusetts. I called and in the course of my conversation, I was told Roger died March 10, 1955. The man also mentioned that his SS# was issued in either CA or another state, Washington I think. He said to write a letter to the VA with my request and they could copy the folder and send the info to me. However, he could not tell me anything else over the phone. That is all I have for now.
