Hello to everyone on the ROOTSWEB unsolved genealogical mysteries list.i would like to ask for some help on the following "brick wall": In the year 1900,my 2nd Great -Uncle, W. Denton Fouke,disappeared from northern Illinois. He was suspected of a robbery/double murder in rural Stephenson County,IL. He was never caught or heard from again,that any of us today know of. In 1896 ,Denton was living around Richland Center,WI,and married a Cora Alice Sollard also:SOLARD,MALONEY,MAHONEY,FOUKE,FOULKE.......later,MATTERS ,WHITE).They had a son and a daughter together,and lived in Rockford,IL for awhile. Cora and the children ended up in Oregon . Her grandchildren would also like to know Denton's fate. We assume that he took up a new name and a new life elsewhere. In the past,when living under an alias,Denton had used his mother's real maiden name on his wedding papers. His parents were William James Fouke and Sarah "Sally May" Sheets. Does anyone have any suggestions to help us continue? Thanks! Darrin R. Fouke
