I have entered a post before re: tracing my grandmother Madge Hughes Johnson Beckler Walker. My grandmother b. June 02, 1892 in Mercer Co. KY. m. Elmer F. Johnson around 1908. They lived in Decatur, IL. when my father was born in 1909. She deserted my father while he was still a baby. Since I have entered the initial information, I have found a woman on the Kenton Co., KY list, who knew some of my grandmother's family. This is where the plot thickens. My grandmother had a sister who lived in the Kenton Co.. area. Her name was Jennie Strathern, I had entered a query thinking I might find a relative with info from a family Bible etc. This woman replied to my query stating she knew the family, and at her first response told me for awhile that Jennie's grandaughter had lived with her family, but she didn't remember the circumstances. The responder then told me she would ask her own mother for further information. I heard nothing for weeks, so I wrote her again. This t! ime she responded that it was a grandson that lived with her family, and she again promised further information. You guessed it, now it has been several weeks and again no response. What is with this family? Sorry for this long letter to you all but I just had to get it off my chest I am just so FRUSTRATED. Thanks for listening. Miriam Johnson-Mason
