Mary So sorry that your Mom was not able to have a reunion with Robert John. But, he sounds as if he has divorced himself from the family and is living the life that he has invented. It is hard to understand why a person feels that way. but it probably goes back to something in his childhood that he misunderstood or really did not know the true reason why it happened. It could involve circumstances that happened after your Dad died and he never knew your Mom's side of the story. If you build your own little world and the untruths that hold it together for a long period of time it becomes reality. I have a sister like that. Her whole life is an untruth. After a while they really believe what they made up is the truth. The rest of the world is wrong. I feel sorry for people like that. I am a firm believer that if you cannot face the Facts of the Past, How can you ever face the Future. Life is built on Reality Not Fiction. Some parts we might not like but we do have to learn to accept them as part of our life. No one ever said Life was Easy. I just saw this recently on the Web and I really thought it was so true.
