    1. Re: Abandoned Family 1925 NY, PA Border
    2. Hi Catherine This is sure one time I disagree with the NY Court System. All of these siblings should have access to that file especially for health reasons. They have the Right to their Heritage. After all this was 75 yrs ago and the parents are dead. Did anyone have the Newspaper Obits on these Parents? Did it show any survivors or additional children? Perhaps if it did they would have the Reason or know some of the Answers. Did the Mother or Father have any Brothers or Sisters that might have an Answer to this Mystery? Just a thought. Also, The Parents must of had in their possession Court Documents regarding this case.Maybe if they had another child they would be aware of it. Bailey was a well known Western NYS Name in the Late 1800's and I am assuming that she was a Descendant of one of these families. Also, another Avenue might be to look for Newspaper Articles in or around the Date that the children were taken by the County and perhaps there might be a story regarding the incident. Maybe a relative reported mistreatment, children left unattended or something. I would look for other Relatives on the Father and Mother's Side such as Sister/Brothers and perhaps a Family Member has some knowledge of this situation. Someone out there must know what happened. It seems that the mother would of tried to locate these children since they were apparantly not that far from each other. How sad that they not only lost their Parents but they lost each other. Maybe Elmer is still living and wondering about his bothers and sisters. However he could of moved to another state further away, married, had a family and perhaps one of them will see you email on Gen Unsolved Mysteries and Reply. I wish you all the Luck in the world and hope you can get a clue. Pat
