This is a story told to me by my Mother and I am curious to know if this woman was ever found: In Oct/Nov of 1947, in Carthage (Jasper County), Missouri, a young father came home from work to find his two children abandoned, and his wife disappeared. It was not known whether this was a black market kidnapping situation, postpartum depression disappearance or what, but my Mother said she was very attractive, and had just had another child. The couple was young, my mother was 27 at the time, and felt they were early twenties. The family name was Alexander. Does anyone remember this or remember reading about it and know what ever happened to her or if they ever found her?
