Hi - This is my first post - My ggrandfather, William H. O'Connor, MAY have died in prison. We know that he died in Feb. of 1890, and was buried in May of that year, perhaps due to weather conditions. He lived in Boston and South Boston most of his adult life. The informant on his death was my grandfather, Fred Howe, who would have been only 16 at the time. [He later married Wm's daughter, Mary Ann]. Would the prison have notified the family to make arrangements, or how would that have been handled? Wm. was buried in Calvary Cemetery in Boston, but apparently the cemetery has no records of his age, or the undertaker, etc., which is also unusual. Any suggestions? Thanks, Ann Wheeler awheel @directinter.net
