    1. [GEN-UNSOLVED-MYSTERIES] Hamilton, Bill
    2. Graham Reid
    3. Hi: William James Lawrence Hamilton, disappeared 40 years ago from Victoria, BC, Canada. Born July 25, 1935, in Toronto, moved with parents to Salt Spring Island before his 2nd birthday. Bill lived in Victoria from about age 10 years, with his father, L G Hamilton, and step-mother Julia. (His mother had died). Bill was in the RCAF 1953-58, stationed in Ontario. In 1958, late fall, he moved back to Victoria, BC. Bill wrote one letter east, giving the Victoria Post Office, General Delivery, as his mailing address. That was the last time we heard from him. In the letter, he stated he wanted money sent to him, or we'd never hear from him again. The money wasn't sent, and we never heard from him again. In 1966 Bill was declared legally dead. We had received a letter from a neighbor we had in Victoria saying the RCMP had found an empty boat floating, last rented by Bill. I can find nothing to prove this is true, I have checked the BC Vital Events, and can't find a death registration for him. I have wrote to the RCAF, the RCMP, different police depts. in BC, Bill's old high school (Victoria High, twice, no reply!) CPP, different government sites that may have access to records, the Coast Guard, and many Hamilton's, with no luck! I would like any information anyone may have about Bill, no matter how old, or unimportant it may seem! Bill was an avid fisherman, he went fishing any chance he got. He was 6'2" tall, slim, curly blond hair, blue eyes and glasses. He was friendly and talkative and got along well with everyone. Thank-you, and good luck in your own searches!
