Does anyone know of / have databases with lists of service men/drafts/etc on WW1? Going by his birthdate, he would have been in the first (of three) drafts. Thanks! ....ORIGINAL MESSAGE: My Father's father disappeared in 1955. He went out for "cigarettes" (Lucky Strikes - no kidding)! and truly was never heard from or seen again. We have been searching for years..to no avail. Not even death records, SS#, or any traces of any kind have been located..nothing. He seems to have simply disappeared.
