    1. [GEN-UNSOLVED-MYSTERIES-L] Hello
    2. Hello, my name is Dean Cameron and I am attempting to research my family lines through the Great State of Minnesota. I will give some background: My Great Grandfather Fred (Amos) Cameron was born in Aldrich (Wadena CO.) on 3/7/1887. Until very recently Fred was the beginning of the tree. Through Fred's birth cert. and death cert. we have discovered that his fathers name was John J. Cameron and his mother was Nellie (Lyons) Cameron. I have found a Land patent for John J. Cameron and am attempting to find more info. about him through a form 84 at the National Archives. I have also found 32! Lyons in the same area in land patent searches. I am looking for information for the Lyons as well as Camerons. Now for the Family Mystery. The myth is that John had 5 brothers that volunteered for service in the Civil War. They supposedly all died in the opening battle at Gettysburg. I have checked with some of the Minnesota Volunteers "Muster Rolls" and several reaserch volunteers and they cannot be found....so far. It is probable that the story may have been altered over time but it is also probable that it is based upon some fact. If anybody out there can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Dean Cameron
